A word from one of
our foster homes:

When I foster for Without Borders Boxer Rescue, dogs wiggle into the corners of my heart that I didn’t know were empty.  Sometimes they poop on my floor, sometimes they cry in the middle of the night, sometimes they take flying leaps over my couch and skitter across my coffee table, but they always, always look at me with such hope, like they trust that I will help find them their forever people.  And I do help – be it by tweaking their house manners, helping them figure out basic commands, screening potential forever families, or just being there to rub their ears and love on them.  And I love nothing better than to hear about how happy their happy endings are; I regularly ask Chantelle and Heather about the dogs that have touched me.  I am proud to be a part of this rescue, and I feel so lucky to be able to help other people find their furry family members like I found my own rescue girl, Maia.  She is why I foster.  She is my four-legged heart.  Everyone should be so lucky.

Without Borders Boxer Rescue is looking for new fostering homes.  Foster homes are very important to us, without them we would not exist.

Are you a person who loves boxers?  Has room in their home and heart to help a boxer without a family? Has dedication and patience to help a boxer?  Then please consider fostering!

Foster homes have a very important role to play in rescue.  More often then not the boxers that enter our program are strays.  We need our foster homes to evaluate these dogs personalities.  We need them to help with house training, obedience training, crate training.  We need our foster homes to communicate with us what they feel would be the best possible situation for their foster.  The information the foster home gathers greatly helps us place our rescues in successful homes.

Foster homes are asked to provide their foster with food.  From time to time we do receive donations.  They may also need to supply a collar, leash, food dishes, toys and a crate.  Some items can be provided if needed.  Medical expenses will be covered by Without Borders Boxer Rescue.  All medical expenses must go through our approved vet and be pre-approved.

Being a foster parent is not easy.  Many of the rescues come in scared, sick, thin, broken and our foster homes nurse them back to health.  Then when they are healthy they move on to their forever homes.  It takes a strong heart to foster but each boxer leaves a little piece of them with you!

Please consider opening your home and heart to a needy boxer!

Another foster-parent moment . . .

I really miss Renee, and I felt like bawling my head off when I took her over to her new owner's car and loaded her into her new crate.  I kept my composure, gave her a big hug and kiss good bye and told her to be a good special girl as always. It made me feel good to see how happy her new owner was with Renee. I know they will be the best of friends.

I have to say it was an absolute pleasure to have given Renee a temporary foster home. She's a very special girl and I'm so blessed to have met her.  Seeing these dogs that have had absolutely nothing in their lives, not even a decent meal to eat never mind love, and affection sure makes you wonder how they are still so capable of loving. They are so appreciative for you to just talk nice to them and pet them, and just love them. After all, that's all they live for.

Thanks for the opportunity, and hopefully I
will be able to do it again sometime.
