Once again we have lost one of our fosters before they had a chance to find their forever home. Ty came to us from a loving owner who had fallen on hard times and could no longer care for him. He was a hard placement due to his age, having trust issues and a medical condition. When he first arrived he was scared and confused as the days past though he started to wag his tail and learn to trust us. He started obedience lessons and was so happy to show off his new skills. He was learning so fast and you could just see the sparkle in his eyes as he completed and learned each new skill. There was now a bounce in his step, his tail was always up and he loved to play with the other dogs. We lost our sweet Tee April 24th 2007. The night before Ty was out running and playing with the other dogs when I went to get him the next morning though he couldn't stand up, was cold to the touch and was in obvious pain. I sat with him and held him, his soulful brown eyes following me the entire time. We rushed him up to the vet where he went through a battery of tests, x-rays, was given antibiotics and more. Our hope was this was a bad infection. He started to improve and we wouldn't have the test results back till the next day so we wanted to bring our big boy home. Everyone's fingers were crossed that this was an awful infection but x-rays had revealed what appeared to be spots on his lungs. Our sweet boy came home and once home deteriorated quickly. Only hours after coming home our Ty passed away. He passed in our arms on our kitchen floor cuddled in a blanket. His last hour was laboured, he was restless and uncomfortable. The whole time we held him, we told him we loved him and told him it was okay for him to go. He took one last breath and slipped away. The next day the test revealed cancer. Ty had passed away from a lesion in his lung, but the cancer had spread quickly and was throughout his body.

Rest in Peace our Sweet Boy. We'll see you again!
